In the 2000s the Internet was already popular, but nothing compared to the current situation, with the explosion of social network and the ease finding personal information about anyone.
In the past decade, discussion forums stood out among other sites, as they were busy and restricted to specific topics, such as certain sports, movies or games pages.
It was on one of these forums that emerged one of the most mysterious characters in the internet. From conversations with other members of the site, John Titor claimed to be a time traveler. That's right: it would come from future years to fulfill a certain goal and talk with the people of that time.
What could be just a bad joke gained incredible proportions - and a mystery to this day intrigue those who use the world wide web.
"Greetings. I am a time traveler from the year 2036. " It was so began the first of several texts signed by John Titor in 2001 in the now defunct forum Artbell.

Titor made long posts about the memories he had of his original year, especially on American politics and some issues such as health and technology.
According to him, the environment would be plagued by radiation and diseases, requiring the production of food for domestic locations. Already the universities would be even more important since they have libraries.
Back to the future
After about four months debating, Titor warned that this would be his last day that year - not made another post since then.
After the disappearance, who maintained contact with the traveler sought information about a "John Titor" or a family with this surname. One or other record was found, but nothing that would lead to a conclusion about who was the subject. Besides, no one was able to trace the IP or locate posts then.
